What I Did To Prep This Week: December 6th – December 12th 2020

Hello, Pack. It has been the busiest week ever here on our survival homestead. Not only did we celebrate another anniversary here on our dream land (which is exciting enough on its own) but my huge farmhouse table out of reclaimed barnwood and handhewn timbers is nearly done.
And that’s not all …
The survival homesteading event we have been working on in our Hocking Hills region is moving along at a rapid clip. I have about 26 presenters and demonstrators posted to the Old School Survival Boot Camp website and have a handful more than I am getting ready to post that section of the website.
Next, I will add the Boot Camp Market and Boot Camp Canteen (food) vendors website, as well. We have a great tribe working together to make the survival homesteading camp happen, and I am very excited to see how it all turns out.
Once the fairgrounds determines the amount of available camping spots and prices next week, we can get ready for ticket sales to go live, and start promoting the event and website on social media.
So many folks are eager to help and be involved. More than half of our county consists of state or federal forest, leaving very little room for attracting business outside of ecotourism and outdoor pursuits tourism (hiking, hunting, trail rides etc.) to the area.
Our county is a perfect little place to live, and showcasing the beauty of the region to tourists who come and fall in love with it too is a fulfilling way to live and make a living for folks here. But, the pandemic and the common defense defying dictates from our governor hurt the tourism economy here beyond measure.
Bringing a few thousands folks to the region will not only help them prepare to become more self-reliant and help their families survive a SHTF event, it will help infuse some cash into the coffers of some really good and hard working people who have been hard hit by the 2020 pandemic.
If you live within the state or a few states away, I sure hope you attend and meet, mingle, and learn some new skills – or hone existing ones.
This Week’s Questions
- Check out the Old School Survival Boot Camp website and let me know what you think about the emerging event. I value the opinion of the Pack.
- Do you think the pandemic or the government reaction to it in 2021, is going to further hurt our economy and increase the debt we are passing on to future generations?
- Is the governor in your state trying to cancel Christmas and keep everyone home and as alone as possible? Will you comply?
- What did you do to prep this week?
