Supply Chain Breakdown To Go Mainstream Soon

I first read the synopsis from Ol’ Remus at the Woodpile Report this morning – regarding an article over on alt-market by Brandon Smith:
The supply chain breakdown will go mainstream in a couple months.
The stores are sparse right now; they are stretching inventory to fill gap in shelves and limiting purchases on a long list of items to one per customer, but they aren’t in crisis mode yet.
Supply is about to be destroyed because of lack of production. The extent of the crisis will become much more clear in the next two months to the majority.
The result will be civil unrest in the summer, likely followed by extreme poverty levels in the winter.
No measure of “reopening” is going to do much to stop the avalanche that has already been started.
I have been, and am very much in alignment with this general opinion. I’ve written about it a number of times here on the blog. That is, our JIT (just in time) supply chains are breaking down. And when they break, they don’t just come back like flipping a switch.
Your priority should be, and should have been all along… FOOD.
The next big thing looks like it will be shortages of meat. That’s not going to go over well.
It has begun to hit the mainstream at grocery stores – increasingly – depending on your locality. I have been warning about this for several months, including the most recent message:

MAJOR food processing plants are closed. This alone has already broken the supply chains of the specific foods involved.
I don’t care what type of emergency declaration that Trump mandates with attempts to open these plants… How many people will simply not go back to work due to fears of catching COVID-19? You can’t force people to work at “gunpoint” here in the US, right?
We are in such a FUBAR. And it has only just begun.
I have a feeling that this summer is going to get real interesting. If and when we make it to Fall and then Winter, we’re most likely going to be into a Greater Depression era that will have ripped what’s left of the middle class right into poverty.
The engine of America’s GDP will be severely broken. It already is. I believe that we’re looking at around 30 million unemployed right now?!
The ship of America has lost its rudder. Then it hit an iceberg. Now it’s sinking.
The political class has shown their true colors. They are not the genius authorities that they play on TV. They are politicians and bureaucrats who believe they know better than private industry professionals. The mainstream media pounds it into the dull heads of the masses – while the beat, tempo and noise increases to the threshold of pain…
They have destroyed the nation. Not the virus. No. It was them. Their decisions. That’s how I see it.
Regardless of your own viewpoint and who or what exactly is to blame for this, the fact seems to be that we’re headed into a period of turmoil that could prove to be very bad. I just hope they don’t take us to war. They probably will.
We in the preparedness realm almost always see a crisis coming long before the mainstream. So be ready for what’s coming next.
Buckle your seat belts. Put your seat-backs and tray tables in the upright and locked position. Prepare for landing. It’s going to be a hard one.
Is your chest freezer full?
